F A Q
Can I exchange my FLO for money?
Keep your FLO (Flowers) in your wallet - FLO is a measure of your labor hours contributed to local regenerative actions, and later it will be used as a community currency on Bloom and potentially for local governance. It's not tradable for money directly.
Grants are distributed in USDC
The grants you receive from the grants pool are distributed in USDC, which is exchangeable for money. USDC is what is called a "stablecoin" which means its value is always the same as $1, and it doesn't fluctuate in value the way other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ether do. You can exchange USDC for US dollars through various cryptocurrency exchanges and platforms.
On a quarterly basis, you and your Local Bloom hub receive a portion of the grants pool from the nonprofit, based on how much FLO you earned that quarter. Yearly, as the Bloom cooperative becomes profitable, you'll additionally receive profit dividends proportional to FLO earned in that year.
