Start a Local Bloom Chapter

What is a Local Bloom chapter?

Starting a Local Bloom is about coming together to care for one another and for the places we live.

Hosting local Bloom events is a powerful way to bring people together in your community who are looking for an integrated space to be together. Bloom isn’t a single-issue movement. We intentionally gather people from different backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints. What we share is a curiosity to learn, a desire for genuine connection, and a willingness to be together outside of rigid agendas or common social divisions. Spaces like this are increasingly rare in modern society, and creating one is one of the most valuable things a Local Bloom can offer.

Whether you host events or actions, gathering as Bloom is often a form of spiritual experience that is authentic and rooted in caring for the place you live. Over time, people tend to form friendships, collaborations, and businesses that help the community thrive. And together we realize we can address local challenges with clarity, compassion, and shared purpose.

What do people do in a Local Bloom chapter?

A monthly rhythm can be a good way to keep connections forming. More or less often is ok too. Here are types of events that local Bloom organizers have found work well:

  • healing circle with time after for people to talk and connect
  • skillshares
  • movie screening series
  • hands on projects together
  • or starting with a specific mission or issue area

What you do is up to you and what you think would be beneficial in your community.

Local Blooms are place-based and decentralized, not necessarily project-based. There might be more than one Local Bloom team, event host, or focus group in your area - and that's great! All teams in your region share the same local media feed, which helps build a stronger network of mutual support and collaboration.

Our Vibe - Symbiotic Support

"I would use the phrase liberation theology to describe what's happening through Bloom. It feels abundant and fruitful, it's about telling a new story in the beautiful way of inviting other people into it, and to play in it with us."

"It's amazing to see how Local Bloom Chapters are redefining what infrastructure means. The fact that so many of us are building impactful infrastructure with limited resources is proof that community-driven innovation is powerful. It's not about how much money we have, it's about how we think, how we collaborate, and how we mobilize what's already around us."
